DOROTHY PARKER MONOGRAM
We were given the name of a famous creative and asked to design a monogram and business card that reflected the personality of our creative.
I was given Dorothy Parker, a 1930’s writer and poet. She was known for her quick wit, and I wanted my design to be refined and witty, like her.

TYPE DESIGN
I iterated and experimented rapidly at the beginning. I explored the concept of combining the d and p letterforms to create one unified mark.
This was the concept I settled on—a d & p combination. From this point I worked to refine the mark by exaggerating the serifs and refining the curves.
This is the final business card and monogram design. I used a monospace typeface to evoke her occupation as a writer, and chose to include a quote from her to incorporate her talent and personality.
